How far is East West from the city centre?
We are centrally located, only metres from Rotorua Central Mall, shopping, cafes, supermarkets, banks, and close to thermal, spa parks, scenic wonders and a wide range of adventure activities.
Is the heated swimming pool available to guests?
Yes, the pool is open during set daylight hours exclusively to all studio, suite, apartment and cottage guests. Hours 9 am - 9 pm. However, NO VISITORS of guests are permitted to use our pool facilities.
Are the spa pools private?
The Kiwi GARDEN Cottage has its own private outdoor Jacuzzi located in its enclosed garden area.
The Kiwi Cottage has a small outdoor spa bath privately located in an enclosed patio area.
A private enclosed spa room is available to apartment and Kiwi Cottage guests
A swirl spa is located in the swimming pool area
Are your spa pools mineral pools?
No, due to health and safety issues with operating Mineral spas, we do not offer this facility. All our spas and pools are heated by GEOTHERMAL energy. There are excellent MINERAL spa facilities located at Polynesian Spa, Waikite Hot Pools, Waiora Spa/Hells Gate, and QE Spa.
Can you provide advice on Maori Cultural Concerts?
Yes, there are several options, varying rates and levels of entertainment available locally. We can offer one on one advice specific to your needs and budget on arrival, and book your concert choice on the spot. All main activities provide a pick up and drop off service to East West.
Are breakfasts available?
Yes, we offer starter continental breakfasts set up in your apartment on the night of arrival only at an extra charge, on prior arrangement. All our apartments and cottages have full kitchen facilities and supermarkets are only metres away. For in house studio guests, we provide 3 x options, if required - a starter continental or a full continental tray breakfast or buffet continental breakfast at an extra charge. Please refer to our “Accommodation” page on our website for full breakfast option information and costs.
Do your apartments have air conditioning?
No, Rotorua is temperate climate. All units have electric fans which are sufficient during the warmer summer months. Daylight averages are the following:
Summer (Dec- Feb) 21- 29 degrees Celsius
Autumn (March – May) 15 – 26 degrees Celsius
Winter (June – Aug) 9 – 16 degrees Celsius
Spring (Sep – Nov) 13 – 21 degrees Celsius
How are your apartments heated?
We operate a unique eco friendly geothermal bore system providing year round central heating and hot water. This system is operated and managed by a community based trust of which we are members.
Do you provide laundry facilities?
All our apartments and cottages have laundry facilities and clothes lines. In house guests laundry service is available at an extra charge. A same day external laundry service is also available at an extra charge.
Are supermarkets located close by?
Yes, Woolworths is located only metres away, opening hours 8.00 am – 10.00 pm. Countdown is nearby, open 24 hours.
Do you provide Barbeque Facilities?
Yes, both cottages have their own private barbeque facilities, and the 2 apartments have a shared barbeque area.
Do you provide bedding and equipment for babies?
Yes, we provide portacots, bedding, high chairs for babies, and beds for smaller children. Linen and blanketing laundry charges are one off $10.
Do you provide safe?
Yes, all units have personal digital safes, or access to a safe.
Do you provide full sheeting, linen and towels?
Yes
Are there disability units available?
Yes, our KIWI GARDEN COTTAGE has full ramps, and access facilities
Is a child’s play area available on site?
Yes, play equipment for small children are located in 2 areas of the apartment and cottages areas.
Is Sky tv available?
Yes, full SKY DIGITAL Sports and movie channels are available in the Cottages and Town house apartments only
Do you provide internet access?
Yes, we provide a WI FI access system at a reasonable charge.

Approximately 12 – 15 minutes direct drive
How far is East West from the Rotorua Bus Terminal?
Approximately 800 metres from the Rotorua Information Centre and bus terminal.

2 and half hours via Route 27 via Matamata

One hours easy drive
How far is Coromandel from Rotorua?
About 3 – 3 and half hours. There are no fast primary roads until closer to Tauranga.
How far are the Waitomo Caves from Rotorua?

Where can we visit on a day trip from Rotorua?
Taupo, Waitomo Caves, Whakatane, Tauranga, Mt Ruapehu ski fields. There are also many tour services covering these areas on a daily basis
